But can it really be? I've never read consumer report, so I have no idea what they were testing and comparing for.

If I could afford a highway machine like this as a commuter, I would totally buy this car. I dig the looks.

Fantastic car, but just imagine if it were on the stretched Alpha than sits under the CTS. This Impala hands down looks better than the SS Sedan.

Consumer Reports is car reviews for robots. They rank a car on all the stuff that "matters" to boring people with no soul and ignore things like how enjoyable the car is.

Chevy makes the Honda Accord now? That would get good grades...

Beats me, I was actually under the impression that the current Impala is a pretty capable sedan, despite not being RWD. And the tiny ass.
Seriously, it should have a much longer trunk, for that Old School sedan look.

This car will be the demise of the 'new' SS.
Mark my words.

It may not be a Jalop car but it is an excellent car.

This car is quite decent. I like it quite a bit more than the other Full Sizers available currently.

Why? They have totally different target demographics. The person who is interested in a 450HP RWD Sports Sedan isn't go to cross shop it against a FWD Impala. This car will be the demise of the Ford Taurus.

If you look very closely its just an Accord in drag.

I dunno, I think it gives it a kinda nice pseudo-fastback look.

I thought it was damn good (OppoReview). It just suffers from overboosted steering and brakes.

When this car exists I don't understand how Chevy can justify the Lumina I mean Holden I mean Chevrolet SS. It seems really redundant.
Shove off with the SS, bring us the Commodore Ute please.

The person who walks on to a lot at a Chevy store looking for a four door sedan will walk right by the SS and purchase this car.
The demographic you are referrring to will not support the SS as a viable retail money maker.

The SS is the demise of the SS.
These don't really compete with each other

Seeing the above car run a 10 second 1/4 yesterday is still rolling around in my brain. Good ol' LT1

Pretty sure I am the only Jalop who subscribes to Consumer Reports (hey, I like to look at something other than an electronic screen occasionally) and this actually is not true . They gave the Tesla Model S a 99, which is the highest score any car has ever received. The Audi A7 also received a 95, and I believe the E Class diesel got a 97. I suppose you could say the Tesla and the A7 are hatchbacks, and therefore technically not sedans, but the E Class most certainly is.
Props to Chevy anyway as a 95 is extremely high and cars rarely score anywhere near there. I think the CTS just received a 74 in the last issue..
